Shift Control Cable: Odyssey

  1. Shift gear selector into "N" position. Remove steering column covers. Remove lock nut from shift cable mounting bolt. See Fig 1 . Separate shift cable end from shift lever assembly. DO NOT pull on shift cable guide pipe.
  2. Push shift cable forward until it stops. Pull cable back one step. Turn ignition on. Ensure "N" indicator light is on. Insert a .24" (6.0 mm) pin into positioning hole in shift lever assembly. See Fig 2 .
  3. Align flat surfaces of shift cable mounting bolt with shift cable end hole. Install shift cable lock nut and tighten to 16 ft. lbs. (22 N.m). Move shift lever to each gear. Ensure each position indicator light comes on appropriately. Readjust if necessary.
