Gauge Dimmer Switch Input
- Remove lower dashboard cover. From behind dashboard, push out gauge dimmer switch from dashboard. Disconnect gauge dimmer switch 3-pin connector. Ensure connector and terminals are okay. Repair as necessary and retest system. If connector and terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Check for continuity between gauge dimmer switch connector Black wire and ground. Continuity should exist. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire between gauge dimmer switch and ground connector G201 and G401. Ground connector G201 is located at left side of engine compartment, next to windshield washer fluid reservoir. Ground connection G401 is located behind left kick panel.
- Turn headlight switch to ON position. Check for battery voltage between gauge dimmer switch connector Red/Black wire and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check fuse No. 30 (7.5-amp) located in underdash fuse/relay box. Replace fuse if necessary. If fuse is okay, replace headlight switch or repair open in Red/Black wire between gauge dimmer switch and fuse No. 30.
- With headlight switch in ON position, connect a jumper wire between gauge dimmer switch connector Red wire and ground. If instrument lights illuminate, gauge dimmer switch circuits are okay. Replace gauge dimmer switch. If instrument lights do not illuminate, repair open in Red/Blue wire between gauge dimmer switch and cruise control unit.
