Piston Rings: Alignment

Install the rings as shown.
NOTE:
- The top ring has an A mark.
- The second ring has an R mark.

Top Ring (Standard):

A: 2.6 mm (0.10 in)

B: 1.0 mm (0.04 in)

Second Ring (Standard):

A: 3.0 mm (0.12 in)

B: 1.2 mm (0.05 in)

NOTE: The manufacturing marks must be facing upward.

Rotate the rings in their grooves to make sure they do not bind.
Position the ring end gaps as shown:
