Maintenance Reminder Unit Input Test

  1. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Remove instrument cluster from instrument panel. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. With ignition switch in OFF position, disconnect maintenance reminder unit 5-pin "B" connector.
  2. Check for bent, corroded, loose or disconnected terminals in connector. Test each circuit of maintenance reminder unit connector for continuity or voltage as indicated. See Fig 1 . Repair connectors as necessary and recheck system. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If all maintenance reminder input tests are okay, replace instrument cluster printed circuit board.
