Cruise Control Actuator Assembly: 3.2TL
- Disconnect cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin connector. Remove cover. Ensure output linkage operates smoothly without binding or sticking. Using a fused jumper wire, connect battery voltage to cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin connector terminal No. 2 (Brown/Black wire). See Fig 1
. Using another jumper wire, ground cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire).
- Cruise control actuator clutch should make a clicking sound and output linkage should be locked. When battery voltage is removed, output linkage should unlock and move smoothly. If actuator operates as specified, go to next step. If actuator does not operate as specified, replace actuator.
- Using a fused jumper wire, connect battery voltage to cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin connector terminal No. 4 (Brown/Black wire). Using another jumper wire, ground cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin connector terminal No. 3 (Brown/White wire). When output linkage is in fully closed and middle positions, actuator motor should operate. In fully opened position, actuator motor should stop operating. If actuator motor operates as specified, go to next step. If actuator motor does not operate as specified, replace actuator.
- Using a fused jumper wire, connect battery voltage to cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin connector terminal No. 3 (Brown/Black wire). Using another jumper wire, ground cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin connector terminal No. 4 (Brown/Black wire). When output linkage is in fully opened and middle positions, actuator motor should operate. In fully closed position, actuator motor should stop operating. If actuator motor does not operate as specified, replace actuator.
