Piston Pin Inspection

  1. Measure piston pin diameter. Measure piston pin bore in piston. Piston pin clearance is difference between the 2 measurements. Ensure piston pin clearance is within specification. See PISTONS, PINS & RINGS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
  2. Determine difference between piston pin diameter and connecting rod small end bore. Ensure interference fit between piston pin and connecting rod is within specification. See PISTONS, PINS & RINGS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
