Intermittent Wiper Relay Test

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove relay from relay box. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, ensure continuity exists between relay terminals No. 3 and 5, then between terminals No. 1 and 4. See WIRING DIAGRAMS. Continuity should not exist between terminals No. 1and 2.
  3. Using fused jumper wires, apply battery voltage and ground between relay coil terminals No. 3 and 5. Continuity should now exist between terminals No. 1 and 2. Ensure continuity does not exist between terminals No. 1 and 4. Replace relay if continuity is not as specified.
