Removal & Installation

- Deactivate air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Disconnect negative battery cable and then positive battery cable. WAIT at least 3 minutes before beginning repairs under instrument panel. Release double lock and disconnect air bag connectors at fuse/relay box.
- Remove instrument panel lower cover. Remove mounting nut and bolt, and remove instrument panel fuse/relay box. To install, reverse removal procedure. After connecting battery cables, reset PCM idle memory. See RESETTING PCM IDLE MEMORY.
