Removal & Installation (3.0CL)

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Raise and support vehicle. Remove heat shield. Remove fuel tank drain bolt and empty fuel tank. Disconnect lines.
  2. Place a jack under tank. Remove strap nuts, and allow straps to fall free. Disconnect all electrical connectors. Remove fuel tank. If fuel tank sticks, carefully pry fuel tank off mount using a pry-bar. Remove fuel pump mounting nuts and fuel pump.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install drain bolt with NEW washer. Coat drain bolt with rubber sealer (Noxrust 124B ). Allow rubber sealer (Noxrust 124B ) to dry for 20 minutes.
