BACKGROUND
In the 1998-99 2.3CL service manual, the connector diagrams and the troubleshooting chart for the control unit input test (pages 4-39 and 4-40) are incorrect.
In the 1997-99 3.0CL service manual, the connector diagrams and the troubleshooting chart for the control unit input test (pages 4-36 and 4-37) are correct only for the 1997 3.0CL. They are incorrect for the 1998-99 3.0CL.
The connector diagrams and troubleshooting chart in the 1997 2.2CL service manual are correct for that model.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
In your 1998-99 2.3CL service manual, make an X through the connector diagram on page 4-39. Make an X through the information on page 4-40, and write a note to refer to this service bulletin.
In your 1997-99 3.0CL service manual, write a note on page 4-37: Applies to 1997 only, refer to service bulletin 99-050 for 1998-99 information.
