Resistance Test

  1. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove speedometer from instrument cluster. Using an ohmmeter set to the 1000-ohm scale, measure resistance of tachometer. SeeFig 1 . Replace tachometer if resistance is not as specified.
  2. Ensure instrument cluster tachometer readings closely match those of an external tachometer. See TACHOMETER VARIATION SPECIFICATIONS  .
