Actuator Assembly Test

Disconnect 4-pin connector at actuator. Actuator is located on right side of engine compartment near firewall. See Figure . Measure resistance between specified terminals of actuator connector. See CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY RESISTANCE TEST table. See Fig 1 . Replace actuator assembly if resistances are not as specified.

CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY RESISTANCE TEST (1)

Measure Between Terminals No. Resistance
3 & 4 (Vent Solenoid) 40-60 Ohms
2 & 4 (Vacuum Solenoid) 30-50 Ohms
1 & 4 (Safety Solenoid) 40-60 Ohms
(1) Specifications may vary with temperature. Specified resistance is at 70° F (20° C).
