Removal & Installation
- Mark spark plug wires, distributor housing and cylinder head for installation reference. Disconnect distributor 10-pin connector and spark plug wires. Remove hold-down bolts and distributor.
- Ensure No. 1 piston is set to compression stroke TDC. Using clean engine oil, lubricate and install NEW "O" ring. See Fig 1. Install distributor, aligning distributor coupling with slot in camshaft. Connect wiring. Ensure ignition timing is set correctly. See ADJUSTMENTS
article. Tighten mounting bolts. See specifications under TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
