A/T Gear Position Switch

NOTE: The A/T gear position switch contains back-up light switch and neutral position switch. Back-up light switch and neutral position switch can be checked when checking A/T gear position switch.
  1. Remove front console. Disconnect A/T gear position switch harness 12-pin connector and neutral position switch 2-pin connector. See Fig 1 .
  2. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between specified terminal(s) with shift lever in indicated positions. See Fig 2 .
    NOTE: Check continuity while moving shift lever back and forth in free play area of each gear position. DO NOT touch push button on shift lever when checking continuity.
  3. If continuity is not as specified, A/T gear position switch may require adjustment. See A/T GEAR POSITION SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If correct continuity cannot be obtained by adjusting A/T gear position switch, replace switch assembly.
