Description & Operation

The Driver's Position Memory Systems (DPMS) can memorize driver's seat position, power mirrors position and steering column position for 2 different driver's by pressing the MEMO button on the DPMS switch after adjustments have been made. The DPMS switch is located in the driver's door panel. Manual adjustments can also be made.

On 3.5RL, 4 motors provide for front up/down, rear up/down, forward/back, and recline adjustment. Additionally, 2 motors are used to adjust steering column position. Each motor includes a reed-switch sensor, which sends a pulse signal to DPMS control unit.

WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Do not apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
