Switching To Mode 2

To enter self-diagnostic Mode 2, vehicle must be in self-diagnostic Mode 1. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCs) under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC MODE 1 TEST . To switch from Mode 1 to Mode 2, disconnect and connect SCS Service Connector Tool (07PAZ-0010100) for 5-10 seconds. To cancel Mode 2, remove SCS service connector tool for at least 10 seconds or turn ignition switch to OFF position.
Activate Mode 2 and operate each switch controlled by each multiplex control unit. Perform steps 3) through 5). If circuit related to switch operates okay, ignition key light will flash once and buzzer will sound once. If circuit is faulty, there will be no system operation when switch is operated. - Driver's door switch.
- Driver's door key cylinder switch (LOCK/UNLOCK).
- Driver's door lock switch (LOCK/UNLOCK).
- Driver's door lock knob switch (LOCK/UNLOCK).
- Trunk opener switch
- Power window master switch, except driver's switch.
Driver's Multiplex Control Unit switches:
- Headlight switch.
- Front fog light switch.
- Instrument cluster lights brightness control.
- Left rear door switch.
- Left rear door lock knob switch (UNLOCK).
- Trunk key cylinder switch.
- Driver's seat belt switch.
- Windshield wiper/washer switch, except MIST switch.
- Brake switch.
- Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).
- Parking brake switch.
- A/T gear position switch (REVERSE)
Passenger's Multiplex Control Unit switches:
- Hood switch.
- Trunk latch switch.
- Radio switch.
- Trunk opener main switch.
- Front passenger's door switch.
- Front passenger's key cylinder switch (LOCK/UNLOCK).
- Front passenger's door lock switch (LOCK/UNLOCK).
- Front passenger's door lock knob switch (UNLOCK).
- Right rear door switch.
- Right rear door lock knob switch (UNLOCK).
- Keyless transmitter (LOCK, UNLOCK, TRUNK, and PANIC buttons).
- Rear window defogger switch.
- Engine oil pressure switch (ON or OFF).
- Alternator ("L" terminal).
