Interlock Control Unit

NOTE: It may be necessary to consult wiring schematic when checking any interlock system component wiring. See Fig 1.
  1. Remove lower panel from instrument panel. Disconnect 8-pin connector from interlock control unit. Interlock control unit is located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure. Inspect terminals for corrosion or bending, repair as necessary.
  2. Using DVOM, check for continuity or voltage between specified terminals or body ground. See Fig 2. If necessary to check ground connections G401 or G404, ground connection G401 is located behind driver's side kick panel area, just above hood opening lever. Ground connection G404 is located behind passenger's side kick panel area. See Figure.
  3. If necessary to check No. 1 fuse (10-amp), fuse is located in the fuse/relay box behind driver's side kick panel. Fuse No. 30 (20-amp), is located in the fuse/relay box in engine compartment. If necessary to access TCM, the TCM is located behind glove box and contains Gray 26-pin and 22-pin colored electrical connectors. See Figure.
