Brush Inspection

Measure brush length. If not within service limit, replace armature housing and brush holder assembly. See Fig 1 .

NOTE: To seat new brushes after installing them in their holders, slip a strip of #500 or #600 sandpaper, with grit side up, over commutator, and smoothly rotate armature. The contact surface of brushes will be sanded to same contour as commutator.
