Description & Operation

On Legend, 4 motors provide for front up/down, rear up/down, forward/back, and recline adjustment for driver's power seat and 2 motors provide for tilt up/down and extend/retract for steering column. Each motor includes a reed-switch sensor, which sends a pulse signal to Driver's Position Memory Systems (DPMS) control unit. DPMS memory feature adjusts seat and steering wheel to either of 2 preset positions.

WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Do not apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
