Defogger Test
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage between 12-pin connector terminal No. 8 (Black/Yellow (1) wire) and ground. See Fig 1
. If battery voltage does not exist, check for open in Black/Yellow (1) wire between under-dash fuse/relay box and defogger switch. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between 12-pin connector terminal No. 8 (Black/Yellow (1) wire) and terminal No. 9 (Orange wire). Turn ignition switch to ON position. Both mirrors should gradually get warm. If both mirrors fail to warm, check for open in Orange wire. If only one mirror fails to warm, check its mirror defogger element. See POWER MIRROR DEFOGGER ELEMENT/SWITCH TEST
under COMPONENT TESTS. If both mirrors warm, check power mirror defogger element switch. See POWER MIRROR DEFOGGER ELEMENT/SWITCH TEST
under COMPONENT TESTS.
