Code 14 - Idle Air Control Valve (IACV)
- Turn ignition off. Remove ACG fuse (No. 15, 7.5-amp) from underdash fuse box for 10 seconds to reset ECM. Retrieve codes. If Code 14 does not appear, start and idle engine. Unplug 2-pin connector from IACV. If engine speed is not reduced, replace IACV. If engine speed is reduced, problem is intermittent. Inspect for poor connections at ECM, IACV, and wire harness connectors. Test-drive vehicle and retest.
- If Code 14 exists, turn ignition off. Unplug 2-pin connector from IACV. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between Yellow/Black wire and body ground. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Yellow/Black wire between IACV and main relay. If battery voltage exists, turn ignition off. Reconnect IACV wiring.
- Attach connector "A" of ECM Test Harness (07LAJ-PT3010A ) to ECM wiring harness, leaving ECM disconnected. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using a jumper wire, touch test terminal A9 to test terminal A23 several times. If IACV does not click, repair open or short circuit in Blue/Red wire between IACV and ECM connectors. If wire is okay, replace IACV. If IACV clicks, temporarily substitute your own good ECM, then retest system.
