DTC 6: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

If the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) indicates Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 6, a problem may exist in the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor circuit. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . The ECT Sensor is a temperature dependent resistor (thermistor). The resistance of the thermistor decreases as the engine coolant temperature increases.
