Alternator Brush Inspection

Remove end cover, then take out brush holder by removing its 2 screws. See Fig 1 .

Measure length of brushes with a vernier caliper.See ALTERNATOR BRUSH LENGTH .

Application	Length
Standard	10.5 mm (0.41")
Service Limit	1.5 mm (0.06")

NOTE: If brushes are not inside service limit, replace brush holder assembly.
