Description & Operation: Notes

WARNING: Vehicles are equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. Before attempting any repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

The integrated control unit consists of several circuits combined in a single control unit. See the appropriate section of this manual for details about each circuit. The integrated control unit receives battery voltage at all times from fuse 34. With the ignition switch in RUN or START, battery voltage is supplied from fuse 5 to the control unit. The control unit is grounded at G401.

The integrated control unit incorporates the following functions into one circuit board.
