Code 30 Or 31: A/T FI Signal
- Turn ignition off. Remove BACK UP fuse from underhood fuse/relay box for 10 seconds to reset ECU. Test drive vehicle at least 5 miles allowing transaxle to upshift and downshift. Check ECU for fault codes. See RETRIEVING CODES . If Code 30 or 31 is not present, problem is intermittent. Check for poor connections at A/T control unit or ECU connector. Test drive vehicle and retest.
- If Code 30 or 31 is present, turn ignition off. Connect ECU Test Harness (07LAJ-PT3010A ) between ECU and ECU connector. See Figure . Disconnect 22-wire connector from A/T control unit. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between body ground and test terminal B3 (Code 30) or B4 (Code 31).
- If continuity is present, repair short in White/Green wire between ECU connector and A/T control unit. If continuity is not present, disconnect ECU connector and A/T control unit connector. Check White/Green wire and White/Red wire continuity between connectors. Repair wire if continuity is not present. If continuity is present, substitute a known good ECU, and recheck. If symptom/problem goes away, replace original ECU.
