Engine Identification

Engine identification code is located on left front side of engine block, below cylinder head mating surface. First 5 characters of code indicate engine type. California models have number 20 as sixth and seventh characters. Federal models have number 23 as sixth and seventh characters. Last 5 digits of engine code indicate engine serial number.
