Component Disassembly & Reassembly: MAINSHAFT: Inspection
- Inspect all parts for damage and wear. Replace if necessary. Clean all parts in new solvent, dry and lubricate all parts. Install 3rd/4th, and 5th synchro hubs with a press before lubricating them.
- Measure mainshaft at points "A", "B" and "C". Support mainshaft in "V" blocks. Using dial indicator to measure runout, rotate mainshaft 2 complete revolutions. Replace mainshaft if runout or any part is not within service limit. See MAINSHAFT BEARING SURFACE SPECIFICATIONS table.
