Fuel Pump Relay

  1. Remove main relay, located at left side of cowl. Check for continuity between relay terminals No. 1 and 3. If continuity exists, replace relay. If continuity does not exist, proceed to the next step. See Fig 1 .

  2. Check for continuity between relay terminals No. 5 and 7. If continuity exists, replace relay. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Using a fused jumper wire, connect positive battery terminal to relay terminal No. 4. Connect relay terminal No. 8 to ground. Check for continuity between relay terminals No. 5 and 7. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace relay.
  4. Connect battery positive terminal to relay terminal No. 6. Connect negative battery terminal to relay terminal No. 2. Check for continuity between relay terminals No. 1 and 3. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace relay.
  5. Connect battery positive terminal to relay terminal No. 3. Connect battery negative terminal to relay terminal No. 8. Check for continuity between relay terminals No. 5 and 7. If continuity exists, relay is okay. If continuity does not exist, replace relay.
