Legend & Vigor
- Check for blown fuse No. 13 (Legend) or fuse No. 1 (Vigor) at underdash fuse block. Remove access cover in luggage compartment area. Ensure ignition is off. Unplug 3-pin connector from sending unit.
- Connect positive voltmeter lead to Yellow/White wire terminal. Connect negative lead to Black wire terminal. Turn ignition on. Voltage should be 5-8 volts. If voltage is as specified, go to step 3). If voltage is not as specified, check for poor ground and open in Yellow, Yellow/White or Black wire.
- Turn ignition off. Connect jumper wire between Yellow/White and Black wire terminals. Turn ignition on. Fuel gauge needle should move toward "F" mark on gauge. Turn ignition off within 5 seconds or before gauge needle reaches "F" mark. Failure to turn ignition off before needle reaches "F" mark may result in damage to fuel gauge.
- If wiring is okay but fuel gauge needle does not move, replace fuel gauge. If gauge is okay, test fuel gauge sending unit.
