Master Cylinder Push Rod

NOTE: Master cylinder push rod-to-piston clearance must be checked and adjusted before installing master cylinder.
  1. Mount Push Rod Adjustment Gauge (07JAG-SD40100). Ensure adjusting bolt is flush with end of master cylinder. See Fig 1 . Ensure gasket is in position when adjusting rod clearance.
  2. Remove Push Rod Adjustment Gauge from master cylinder, and mount on brake booster. Tighten mounting nuts 11 ft. lbs. (15 N.m) Using engine or outside vacuum source, apply a minimum of 20 in. Hg vacuum to brake booster.
  3. Using a feeler gauge, ensure clearance is 0-.016" (0-.41 mm) on Integra or 0-.008" (0-.20 mm) on Legend. See Fig 2 . If clearance is incorrect, loosen star lock nut, and turn adjuster in or out to adjust clearance. Hold clevis while adjusting.
