Idle-Up Solenoid (Automatic Transmission)

  1. Warm engine until cooling fan comes on. Disconnect wire harness connector to idle-up solenoid valve. Start engine. Using a jumper wire, connect 12 volts to Black/Yellow (positive) wire terminal and ground to Blue/Red (negative) wire terminal of idle-up solenoid.
  2. Vacuum signal should be present at idle-up valve vacuum hose. If vacuum signal is not present, check vacuum hose and hose routing. If vacuum hose and hose routing are okay, replace idle-up solenoid valve.
