Shift Position Console Switch
NOTE:
Shift position console switch also contains back-up light switch and neutral safety switch. Back-up light switch and neutral safety switch can also be checked when checking shift position console switch.
- Remove center console. Disconnect shift position console switch 2-pin and 10-pin connectors, and note terminal identification. See Fig 1 .
- Using ohmmeter, check continuity between specified terminals with shift lever in indicated positions. See SHIFT POSITION CONSOLE SWITCH CONTINUITY table.
- If continuity is not as specified, shift position console switch may require adjustment. See SHIFT POSITION CONSOLE SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If correct continuity cannot be obtained by adjusting switch, replace switch assembly.
NOTE:
Check continuity while moving shift lever back and forth in free play area of each gear position. DO NOT touch push button on shift lever when checking continuity.
