Shift Control Cable

  1. Start engine. Shift to Reverse. Ensure transaxle engages in Reverse. With engine off, remove the console.
  2. Shift gear selector into Neutral or Reverse. Remove lock pin from cable adjuster. Ensure that hole in adjuster is perfectly aligned with hole in shift cable. See Fig 1 .

  3. The 2 holes in the end of the shift cable are positioned to allow cable adjustments in 1/4 turn increments.
  4. Loosen lock nut on shift cable and adjust as required. Tighten lock nut. Install lock pin on adjuster. See Fig 1 .
  5. Lock pin should not bind as it is installed. Start engine and check shift lever selection of all gears.
