Coolant Temperature Switch

Remove coolant temperature switch from rear of engine cylinder block. Suspend switch in a container with coolant. Heat coolant and check switch resistance using an ohmmeter and thermometer. See COOLANT TEMPERATURE SWITCH SPECIFICATIONS table. If resistance is not as specified, replace switch. If resistance is as specified, check relay and all related wiring. Less Than 179-190°F (82-88°C) No Continuity
Greater Than 191-197°F (89-92°C) Continuity
