Solenoid Leak Test

  1. Connect a DVOM between Black and Yellow wires on accumulator pressure switch connector (Pink). Apply battery voltage to Red/White terminal on pump motor connector (Yellow). Install a switch in this test lead. Ground Green terminal. Turn switch on. Allow pressure to build inside accumulator. Check for continuity at pressure switch.
  2. Once continuity is indicated, allow pump to operate 4 seconds more. Turn switch off. Check for continuity 60 seconds after switch is turned off. If continuity does not exist, check for leaky solenoid. To do so, apply 12 volts across Black and Red wires of solenoid.
  3. If solenoid hisses or squeaks, replace solenoid. Ensure solenoid clicks into position. Check pressure switch for continuity within 60 seconds. If continuity does not exist, replace solenoid.
