Shift Control Cable

  1. Start engine. Shift to Reverse. Ensure transaxle engages in Reverse. With engine off, remove the console.
  2. Shift gear selector into "D" Drive position. Remove lock pin from cable adjuster. Ensure that hole in adjuster is perfectly aligned with hole in shift cable. See Figure.
  3. The 2 holes in the end of the shift cable are positioned to allow cable adjustments in 1/4 turn increments.
  4. Loosen lock nut on shift cable and adjust as required. Tighten lock nut. Install lock pin on adjuster. See Figure.
  5. Lock pin should not bind as it is installed. Start engine and check shift lever in all gears.
