Steering Column: Installation

  1. Install bending plate guide on steering column. Position steering column assembly into hole in floorboard. Slide "U" joint splines onto gearbox shaft. Tighten "U" joint-to-gearbox shaft bolts.
  2. Attach lower hanger bracket to engine side of firewall. Tighten lower hanger bolts. See Fig 1 . Attach steering column to underside of dashboard. Replace steering wheel, column covers, switches and ignition/lock assembly.
