Code 10 - Air Temp Sensor
- Turn ignition off. Remove hazard fuse at battery positive terminal for 10 seconds to reset ECU. Start engine and observe "CHECK ENGINE" light. If light is off, problem is intermittent. Test drive vehicle and check again.
- If "CHECK ENGINE" light is on, turn ignition off. Disconnect 2-wire connector from TA sensor. Measure resistance across sensor terminals. If reading is not 1000-4000 ohms, replace sensor. If resistance is as specified, measure voltage between White/Black wire terminal and ground with ignition on.
- If voltage is about 5 volts, go to step 4). If voltage is not about 5 volts, repair open or short in White/Black and Red/Yellow wire between TA sensor and ECU terminal C5. If wire is okay, substitute a known good ECU. If condition is rectified, replace original ECU.
- Measure voltage between White/Black (pos.) and Green (neg.) wires. If voltage is not about 5 volts, repair open in Green and Brown/Black wire between ECU terminal C12 and TA sensor. If voltage is about 5 volts, substitute with a known good ECU. If condition is rectifed, replace original ECU.
