Steering Gear: Reassembly

  1. Grease all bearings and sliding surfaces before reassembly. Using Drift (07749-0010000 ) and Sleeve (07746-0010300 ), drive bearing into gear housing. See Figure and Figure .
  2. Install pinion holder into housing. Install snap ring with tapered side facing out away from housing. Align snap ring ends with flat part of pinion holder.
