Steering Column: Installation

  1. Install bending plate guide on steering column. Position steering column assembly into hole in floorboard. Slide "U" joint splines onto gearbox shaft. Tighten "U" joint-to-gearbox shaft bolts.
  2. Attach lower hanger bracket to engine side of firewall. Tighten lower hanger bolts. Attach steering column to underside of dashboard. Replace steering wheel, column covers, switches and ignition/lock assembly.
