Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
Lock-up solenoid SLU controls the transmission lock-up function. Solenoid SLU operates when it receives voltage from the transmission control module (TCM) and is activated under different driving conditions depending on road speed, throttle position and the driving mode selected. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-010D is stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers a short-circuit to supply voltage in the solenoid SLU circuit when the solenoid should not be activated. Solenoid SLU is probably activated permanently.
Substitute Value
- The control module "Emergency mode I" program has been initiated
- The transmission control module (TCM) does not activate the lock-up solenoid.
Possible Source
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable
- Defective control module.
Fault symptom[s]
- The warning lamp for the automatic transmission flashes
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
- Harsh gear shifting
- No shifting
- Irregular shifting.
HINT: Harsh shifting is caused by the solenoid being permanently activated.
