Heating And Air Conditioning System Description And Function

The VF9 is equipped with a 2-zone air conditioning system. There are three types of air supply mode:

Technical Description: 

Interior Heating Performance: 

Vietnam Market:

The average outlet temperatures of the heater and DEF discharges shall be a minimum of 45°C when tested in the following conditions.

Air flow 425 kg/h in heater mode
Air flow 450 kg/h in DEF mode
Coolant flow 0.2 l/s (50% water, 50% glycol)
Ambient -5°C
Coolant In 70°C
Coolant dP <25 Pag

US-CN-EU Market:

The average outlet temperatures of the heater and DEF discharges shall be a minimum of 61°C when tested in the following conditions.

Defrosting and Defogging: 

Windshield and side window DEF:

HVAC FRT UNIT shall provide a DEF function which, if selected by the operator, defogs and defrosts the windshield and side window.

HVAC FRT UNIT shall provide a defogging/refogging function, if selected by the operator, defogs and refogs the windshield and side window.

Air Conditioning: 

The refrigerant system is used for cooling in both the HVAC and powertrain cooling systems. The air conditioning system blows cooled outside air into the passenger compartment. The air suctioned by the blower is filtered (particle and/or ionizer), mixed with warm air in the air distributor housing, and distributed via the air vents.

Climate Control: 

Climate Control by VinFast Phone App: 

The VinFast app enables you to remotely check the status of your vehicle's climate control system. The C-App is provided with an update from the vehicle every 60 seconds.

VF9 picture needs to be updated

  1. Tap the climate setting you wish to adjust.
  2. Adjust settings by using on-screen controls.
  3. A confirmation is shown when the vehicle has received the request.
  4. Climate status is updated.

The following settings can be made: fan speed, air conditioner toggle, driver's and passenger's air temperature control, defrost toggle, climate timer, camping, pet mode.

The climate bar must be shown when the MHU is turned on. This can include states of EV charge or when the MHU is booting up (touchpad with blue border).

The different settings can be directly changed by touching the fields with blue borders. The particular field then lights up in color, and manual temperature, fan, seat heating (seat ventilation only with Plus equipment variant) settings can be made directly.

Swipe upwards in the climate bar to open the climate control panel:

The setting can be changed by touching the icons in the climate control panel. Active buttons are highlighted in color, and inactive icons are grayed out. The temperature, ventilation, seat heating (seat ventilation only in the Plus equipment variant) and, in addition, the air outlets can also be changed here.

Starting from the VF9 Plus equipment variant, the vehicle is equipped with an additional, separately adjustable HVAC. This display also controls the settings of the HVAC and the air vents for the 3rd seat row, shown here on the right.
