Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT: Do not separate the intake duct and the resonator duct joint connection. The joint is made when the intake duct is hot and shrinks over the resonator duct.
  1. Remove the left headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement (Pontiac) in Lighting Systems.

  3. Remove the screw (2) from the air cleaner intake duct.
  4. CAUTION: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Raise the vehicle.
  6. Remove the left front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Remove the left front wheelhouse panels. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  8. Remove the 3 attaching fasteners (1) from the resonator.

  10. Remove the intake duct attaching nut.

  12. Remove the duct and resonator assembly through the wheel house opening.
