Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: The fastener retaining the front latch to the front latch slide is not reusable if the front lock assembly is replaced, a new service rivet must be used during reassembly.
  1. Remove the moveable roof panel. Refer to Moveable Roof Panel Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove the moveable roof panel guide assembly. Refer to Moveable Roof Panel Guide Replacement .

  4. Remove the fastener retaining the front latch (1) to the front latch slide.
  5. Remove the front latch (1) from the front latch slide.
  6. Remove the rear latch assembly. Refer to Moveable Roof Panel Latch Replacement - Rear .

  8. Using a small flat-bladed tool, push the end of the front latch slide (3) forward until the front latch slide (1) is protruding from the moveable roof frame assembly (2).
  9. Remove the front latch slide (1) from the moveable roof frame assembly (2), by sliding it forward out of the channel of the frame assembly.
