Slave Cylinder Bleeding

NOTE: Never, under any circumstances, use fluid which has been bled from a system to fill the supply tank as it may be aerated, have too much moisture content or may possibly be contaminated.
NOTE: Ensure the supply tank is kept full with fluid. Use Delco Supreme No. 11 Brake Fluid or DOT 3 conforming brake fluid.
  1. Ensure that pedal can travel through its full stroke. Unscrew bleedscrew, at slave cylinder, to allow fluid to be pumped out (half a turn is normally sufficient).
  2. Push pedal down through full stroke, followed by three short rapid strokes. Allow pedal to return quickly to its stop by removing foot from clutch pedal.
  3. Repeat procedure until air is dispelled at bleedscrew. Close bleedscrew immediately after last downward stroke of pedal when air bubbles no longer appear.
