All Windows Automatic Down (AWAD) Feature - Convertible Only

The All Windows Automatic Down (AWAD) feature causes all windows to go completely down after a single, momentary touch (at least 1/3 second) of the two rear window switches on the driver's master control to the DOWN position. When the AWAD feature is activated, a solenoid in the AWAD Module holds the switches in the down position. The windows may be stopped by momentarily pushing the switches to the UP Position.

The AWAD Module monitors window motor current through resistors. It will release the down switches and stop the windows when the current increases or when it becomes zero. An increase in current occurs when motors stall at the end of their travel. Zero current occurs when switches are pushed to the UP position, removing ground from the motors.
