Stator to Impeller Interference Check

  1. Position front pump with splined end of stator shaft pointing up. Mount converter on pump so splines of one-way clutch inner race engage splines of stator support, and converter hub engages pump drive gear.
  2. While holding pump stationary, rotate converter counterclockwise. Converter should rotate freely without interference. If this condition exists, replace torque converter.
