Illumination Circuit [12/2017 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CHECK PROBLEM SYMPTOMS

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (BUCKLE LIGHTING) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Active Test.
    5. Perform Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Active Test 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Buckle Lighting Perform the Active Test and check that the LED illuminates/turns off. OFF/ON -

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Buckle Lighting

      OK

      The buckle illumination illuminates/turns off normally in response to the Techstream operation.

    REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] 

    Result: 

    NG

  3. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (BUCKLE ILLUMINATION) 
    1. Remove the front seat inner belt assembly LH (buckle illumination).

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023]

    2. Inspect the front seat inner belt assembly LH (buckle illumination).

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2017 - ]

      Result

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (BUCKLE ILLUMINATION)) 
    1. Disconnect the Q27 position control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q39 front seat inner belt assembly LH (buckle illumination) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q27-23 (BCLL) - Q39-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q27-23 (BCLL) or Q39-1 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q39-6 - body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (BUCKLE LIGHTING) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Passenger Seat / Active Test.
    5. Perform Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Passenger Seat > Active Test

      Buckle Lighting Perform the Active Test and check that the LED illuminates/turns off. OFF/ON -

  6. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (BUCKLE ILLUMINATION) 
    1. Remove the front seat inner belt assembly RH (buckle illumination).

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023]

    2. Inspect the front seat inner belt assembly RH (buckle illumination).

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2017 - ]

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023]

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (BUCKLE ILLUMINATION)) 
    1. Disconnect the Q7 No. 2 position control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q16 front seat inner belt assembly RH (buckle illumination) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q7-23 (BCLL) - Q16-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q7-23 (BCLL) or Q16-1 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q16-6 - body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE NO. 2 POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
