Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER (CENTER STOP LIGHT) 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to generate a control command, and then check that the center stop light illuminates.

      Luggage room junction block ECU

      Item Test Details Diagnostic Note
      H-M STOP LIGHT High mounted stop light ON / OFF -

      OK: Center stop light illuminates. 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    NG: Go to Next step 

  2. INSPECT CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the center stop light.
    2. Apply battery voltage to the center stop light connector and check that the center stop light illuminates.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2
      Center stop light illuminates.

    NG: REPLACE CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (LIGHT - ECU AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the H18 light connector.
    2. Disconnect the L23 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      H18-1 - L23-6 (STP3) Below 1 Ω
      H18-2 - Body ground Below 1 Ω
      H18-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
