Inspection Procedure

  1. FUNCTION CHECK 

    Check that each function of the door mirror operates normally.

    1. NG: GO TO (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK MEMORY OF OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR 
    1. Check that the memory function of the outer rear view mirror operates normally.
    1. NG: FLOW CHART 4 (See  EITHER OF DRIVER OR PASSENGER POWER MIRROR CANNOT BE ADJUSTED MANUALLY (FLOW CHART 4)   ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. FUNCTION CHECK 
    1. Check that the driver's side seat memory function operates normally.
    1. NG: GO TO FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM (See  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  4. READ VALUE OF LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Using the hand-held tester, check the rear outer view mirror operation by the data monitor.

      Driver and Passenger door ECU 

      Standard:

    1. OK: Go to step   6 
    2. NG: Go to next step. 
  5. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR 
    1. Check the continuity between each terminal of the outer rear view mirror.

    Standard:

    HINT:

    • In case of the driver's side wire harness, proceed to OK-A.
    • In case of the passenger's side wire harness, proceed to OK-B.
    • If the driver's side outer rear view mirror malfunctions, proceed to NG-A.
    • If the passenger's side outer rear view mirror malfunctions, proceed to NG-B.
    1. OK-A: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK-B: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT RH (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    3. NG-A: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    4. NG-B: REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
  6. READ VALUE OF LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Using the hand-held tester, check the memorized driver and passenger door mirror positions by the data monitor.

      Standard: 

      Driver and Passenger seat ECU

    2. Using the hand-held tester, check the park/neutral position switch and vehicle speed sensor condition by the data monitor.

    Standard: 

    ECM

    HINT:

    • If the door mirror does not face the memorized direction in spite of the fact that the specified conditions are fulfilled, proceed to A.
    • If an item of PNP SW, N SW or VEHICLE SPD is not standard, proceed to B.
    1. REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSY 
    2. B: GO TO COMBINATION METER SYSTEM (See  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  )
